A Fabulous Place to go - "The Kitchen"

If you haven't already been to "The Kitchen" on Colorado Blvd. it's well worth a visit. I went in one Thursday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the inviting decor and fabulous treats freshly made at this wonderful catering and "gourmet to go" business near the San Rafael Hills area of Pasadena. I ordered a few items including, "Chicken Panko with Orange Chile Plum Sauce, a Baby Spinach Salad with Goat Cheese, Pine Nuts, Citrus Segments & Balsamic Vinaigrette, and of course some sweets including Peanut Butter cookies and Lemon Bars."

"Peggy Dark (the founder) traces her interest in food back to the days of her youth in Ventura, California, where she grew up in a family of devoted cooks of the 'old school' variety. Peggy founded "the Kitchen for Exploring Foods" in 1984. The shop on Colorado Boulevard opened for business in the autumn/fall of 1984. Since that time, 'The Kitchen' has emerged as one of the premier catering firms in Los Angeles, with a devoted following among the region's lovers of gourmet food."
