16 Bedroom Mansion in the Bronx

Take a detour away from LA to the east coast. This property looks phenomenal. Located in The Bronx, New York, this 16 bedroom mansion recently sold for $675,000.
The mansion has remained largely untouched for decades, and has all of its original details.

Excerpt from the New York Times:

"The granite it was built from was shipped from Europe and carried from the Manhattan docks by horse and buggy. (The workers and their families were said to have pitched tents in the yard for a year as they worked.)

THE house, designed by the architects Neville & Bagge in the French Renaissance “chatequesque” style, was apparently built in 1896 by a stone dealer who gave a master stone craftsman free rein when it came to details: the deities flanking the door, the bearded god on the keystone, the medallion portrait heads apparently depicting famous people (one is obviously Shakespeare). Even then, according to the report, when the Bronx was a prosperous suburb of Manhattan, this house, on a hill called Mount Hope, stood apart. "
