Rare artwork found in abandoned Paris Apartment
Imagine stumbling upon this... When Mrs de Florian recently passed away at the age of 91, the executors of her estate were assigned the task of drawing up an inventory of her possessions and discovered she had owned an apartment in Paris, France for years, paying the taxes and fees associated with it.
When they visited the flat to inventory its articles and the condition, it was like stumbling into a distant moment in time. The apartment was located in the 9th arrondisment near the Trinité church between the Pigalle red light district and Opera.
Completley untouched for 70 years, the executors entered a large, cobweb-filled flat with some extraordinary articles left behind. Among the belongings was a painting by Giovanni Boldini, an italian painter, unknown to the art world and an incredible find. It was subsequently auctioned off for 2.1 million Euros. A hefty sum. Here is the full story.
