CicLAvia - cycle through the city streets!

If you missed "CicLAvia," let's hope the event will happen again. "CicLAvia" was Los Angeles’ first “open-street” Sunday for cyclists, rollerskaters, skateboarders to enjoy the streets free of cars. Seven and a half miles of streets were car-free last Sunday October 10th 2010. Ciclovías started in Bogotá, Colombia, over thirty years ago as a response to the congestion and pollution of city streets. In Los Angeles our streets are congested with traffic, our air is polluted with toxic fumes. CicLAvia creates a temporary park for free, simply by removing cars from city streets.
